We purchased this stand because it was almost an identical match to furniture we recently purchased at Raymore and Flannigan. I was nervous as the price was good at the time of purchase but then it dawned on me that there are no drawers or cabinets and well.. They cost money so that explained the price. Our stand arrived undamaged but we read that it ships in one piece. It does, one box with the pieces in it. The X shaped ends come assembled and all you have to do is attach the 3 shelves to them. There are nice finished caps to plug the 4 screw holes that are visible on the stand. There are 4 screws per shelf which you can tighten with the included Allen (hex) wrench. This is a really simple stand to assemble and seems to made of actual wood and not particle board. I did over tighten two different screws which caused cracks in the shelf. With a stroke of luck, I just happen to have the furniture repair guy here fixing something else so it wasn't a problem for me. I would say stop tightening as soon as you get resistance. All in all, it is a very sturdy and solid piece of furniture! I give 4 stars simply because I feel that something should "wow" me for a 5.

This couldn't have been any easier to put together. The stand came in 5 pieces and the two side pieces were already assembled. All I had to do was anchor the sides to the top piece then attach the middle and bottom shelf. It probably would have taken 2 people 15 minutes to assemble this but I did it by myself.I like that this stand is open especially for the electronics. My Blu-Ray and my Bose Solo fit perfectly on the second shelf. My dvr and some dvds fit perfectly on the bottom shelf.While the box had some damage when I received it, the pieces were all intact.
