SEI Narita Walnut Corner Media Stand with Windowpane-Style Doors Shopper Reviews
It was easy to put together. It has a very nice, classy, appearance. The attractive cabinet is heavy and sturdy.

I purchased the Narita Corner TV Stand (made by Southern Enterprises, Inc., model MS987100TX) through Amazon.com from totally Furniture on Feb 8, 2009. The stand was purchased to hold a Sony 46 Inch, Z Series LCD television, with the intent of using the inner storage space for components (Combination DVD Recorder/Player/VCR, and future Blue Ray Recorder/Player, along with media) The space is ample for those purposes. I am using little woven baskets inside the cabinet to hold the media on the shelves, which is working out well. The material of the cabinet is man-made "engineered" wood product, of extremely high quality. It looks virtually like fine wood, and is solid (not veneered) construction. It has anchors pre-installed from the factory that receive the Allen screws. The fit and finish of all pieces is excellent. The cabinet requires about 2 hours to assemble, taking your time, to get everything perfect. When completed, you cannot tell it was assembled, and looks like it was purchased in any fine furniture store. It is very strong, sturdy, very heavy. This tand would easily handle a 50 inch flat screen TV, or even larger, so far as weight goes, and the overhang would not be noticable, since it is a corner TV stand. (But could be used for a regular wall, and is finshed on the back) The design and construction of this product is remarkable, and will meet most people's expectations. One thing that I had not thought about was how the wood cross-hatch design of the doors would affect signals from the IR Remotes to the components inside, with the doors closed. This has turned out not to be a problem, and the components work fine with the doors closed. (Panasonic DVD Player/Recorder with VCR combo)Side note. One piec was damaged when I performed assembly. (Cam-lock piece that holds the top in place on one corner) I requested a replacement from SEI thorugh their e-mail address for support on lost, missing or broken parts, but never received a reply. It was not a critical component, and doesn't show (it's only to secure the top, which is also secured by other fasteners), so I dropped the matter. If you buy this stand, be careful not to use too much force on the Cam-lock part. It is rather soft pot-metal, and will easily bend instead of going properly into place. That was my problem.Glenn C.Louisiana

We received the media stand yesterday. It was packaged appropriately and nothing appeared damaged from shipping. The instructions were limited, but we could figure it out. It took my wife and I well over two hours to assemble (this was not our first rodeo). The size was exactly as described. The finish was fine and looked like good furniture. But, then we noticed that three of the large back panels were like thin fiber boards. The wood layer that formed the top of the stand was thin and sounded hollow when pecking on it. One of the turn buckles snapped in two when tighting the turn buckle (not applying any real force). When looking at the turn buckle, it appeared as a piece of tin??When fininshed, it appeared as shown in the photo. You cannot see the cheapness of the product when completed. However, if you put it together, you know it is a cheap piece of furniture. The design is excellent and the finish is excellent, but the product is really a cheap piece of junk. Over time, it will most likely not last.It is extremely over priced. You can buy stands similar in quality to this one at any retail store i.e. target, walmart etc. for around a $100, but the design is not as spiffy. So, if you want the looks buy this one. If you want quality, I'd buy one somewhere else. If we had the opportunity to go back and order knowing what we know now, we would not buy this one.

OK so it's not really walnut - it's well constructed, comes with detailed instructions and looks beautiful. Follow the insttructions! We got hurried and after connecting all the gadgets, realized we had 5 screws left. Had to unplug and correct. My new 32 creep LED looks great. The remote is a bit harder through schooner.UPDATE: For days now I've been having trouble breathing and made one trip to the emergency room. I thought my neighbor must be varnishing hardwood floors or maybe cooking up approximately meth. It's worse at night, when the smell of glue is overpowering.I miss wood. Wood smells nice. This is toxic but I'll never get it repacked.Update - after a couple of weeks and an air purifier on high - the smell is gone. It was at it's worst when the tv was in use and the doors were closed on the Dish STB and the DVD player. All the excitement made it worse. Now the smell is gone. The doors don't quite fit - but it could be the floor is on an slant not the media stand. All in all, it looks great, works great and wasn't tricky to assemble.

I looked and looked for a quality corner tv stand that wasn't a fortune. I settled on this unit and was pleased with the quality. Amazon had the best price, it came very quickly. Took about an hour to completely set up. Looks very nice. It's not real large, which is what I needed. All my components fit inside the unit, hidden by the grid on the doors. The doors have real glass and the unit is sturdy, has the appearance of quality. Nice unit for the $$

This cabinet is much better than I expected. The wood finish is very nice, inside and out. The inside surprised me. It isn't finished like the outside, but it still appears/looks like wood. Unlike other assemble yourself furniture I have had in the past, This went together very easily. Rather than trying to thread screws into particle board, anchors had threaded sockets in each hole. Even the back panels are solid and look and feel like wood, not cardboard.A few key points that I couldn't seem to find answers to before ordering mine. There is glass in the doors behind the wood grids. I wasn't sure when I ordered mine. The product description says it is for televisions up to 42". I think they say this because the cabinet itself is exactly 42" wide. However, a 42" TV is not 42" wide because the screen size is measured diagonally. I have a 46" TV and it is actually just under 43" wide. When you assemble the cabinet, there is actually a sticker on the back that says the cabinet is for up to 40" plasma televisions not to exceed 175 lbs. When trying to determine if this is a good size cabinet for your TV, I would go by the width and the weight. My 46" television is much less than 175 lbs, and it matches the width of the cabinet (exactly 42") almost perfectly. Even a larger TV, as long as it is within the weight restrictions, would probably be okay if you don't mind the TV being a little wider than the cabinet. Even with it tucked in the corner, you have a lot more than the 42" width of the cabinet to accommodate your TV.It also has plenty of room inside. I was a little concerned before ordering mine that the fact it was a corner cabinet would prevent it from being deep enough on the sides for some of my components, but that is not the case at all. Even my largest components fit easily on each side.My one complaint is the doors. The hinges were already attached to the cabinet and to the doors. You just slip them together. The left door on mine is just a little bit high and the right door is just a little bit low. There isn't any obvious way to adjust them aside from removing the hinges and repositioning them, which I am somewhat hesitant to do. It would have been nice if the hinges were slotted where the screws attach so you could have loosened them just a little bit, adjusted the hinge, and re-tightened them.

Overall we liked the stand, and it arrived promptly. Unfortunately the bottom section was split, so i had to switch it out for a new one. This process was fine, and the new one arrived within three days of my complaint. The first one also had the hinges misaligned on one side so i switched that one out too. I gave it three stars for the poor quality control. Otherwise, for looks and functionality i would give it 5.
